Asaleo Care welcomes Governments’ agreement
to remove GST from Feminine Care products

Asaleo Care Interim CEO, Sid Takla welcomes the news announced today that the 10 per cent GST tax on feminine care products including, tampons and pads will be removed.

“We are delighted by this outcome and proud to have contributed to today’s result. Asaleo Care has supported the removal of this tax on feminine care products and directly approached the Federal and State and Territory Governments to reconsider their stance on the GST for feminine care products. We are pleased to be able to advocate for this important change on behalf of our consumers who will benefit most from it,” said Mr Takla.

“This is a positive move forward for women,” said Caitlin Patterson, Executive General Manager, Consumer Marketing.

“We have always believed a tax on feminine care products, essential to women, is inequitable and thus, a tax on gender. There are no other products solely and specifically required by men that attract the GST.”

Asaleo Care is the only manufacturer of feminine care products in Australia, manufacturing its LIBRA products at its Springvale, Victoria site for more than 40 years.
