Asaleo Care Celebrates International Women’s Day

08 Mar 2017

Asaleo Care hosted special events across its sites in Australia and New Zealand in celebration of International Women’s Day.

Andrea Salmon, Head of Sales for Southern Cross Austereo, was guest speaker at its Australian head office site in Box Hill, where the Company unveiled its new parental leave program.

Her advice for women: Be transparent and up front about what you are doing, like picking up your children early, and about what you need and want. That’s the best way to gain greater support from your Company and its leaders.

At the Company’s New Zealand head office in Auckland, Erin Venter, a partner with PwC New Zealand, shared her story and career experiences. During her 13 years at PwC, she has been involved with the Company’s Diversity and Inclusion committee to drive effective and sustainable change.

Asaleo Care’s Pacific Islands head office in Fiji will host its event to mark International Women’s Day on 17 March.

CEO Peter Diplaris said: “Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of every successful, high performing organization.

“We are committed to create a workforce that is diverse, inclusive and more reflective of our customers and consumers – and that means more women in the workplace at the leadership level.”

Asaleo Care is making a difference by establishing a Women’s internal networking groups and a Diversity and Inclusion working group with employee members from Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. It is also making changes to policies and approaches to recruitment and workplace practices to eliminate potential roadblocks to female leadership.
